Saggar firing is a pottery technique that involves placing ceramic pieces inside a container or a "saggar". The saggar is made from materials such as clay and aluminium foil, and protects the pottery from the kiln's direct flame and traps smoke, dust, and chemical fumes. These fumes interact with the pottery's surface, creating unpredictable patterns from materials like seaweed, copper, salt, and sawdust
