"Dawn on the Lake" captures those cold winter mornings when a still mist settles over Lake Ainsworth in Lennox Head. In soft blue-greys and inky charcoals, Jill Thompson paints the dark line of the far shore and its fine reeds reflected in the glassy water, a calm, meditative piece that feels like the first breath of the day.

Jill Thompson is a Lennox Head artist who paints the beaches, headlands and back roads of the Northern Rivers in a loose, gestural style. Painted directly onto a solid block of upcycled timber, this little piece is sturdy enough to stand on its own on a shelf, desk or windowsill, or it can hang from the hook on the back. Jill signs, titles and dates every piece by hand on the reverse.

Jill Thompson is a Lennox Head artist known for her stunning abstract artworks and delicate mini artworks.

Collective Autonomy stocks Jill's mini range that are scenes from the Northern Rivers painted onto offcuts of wood left over from her cabin building project, as well as salvaged from timber stores.
