Doubling Weed - Pressed Seaweed Fine Print

Description
Known as "doubling weed" for the way its fronds continuously divide into two, Dictyota dichotoma is a study in geometry, rhythm, and flow. Its natural curl and intricate twists have been preserved so faithfully that the print retains a sense of weightlessness, giving the illusion that the specimen is still floating suspended in seawater.
Sustainably hand-gathered along the tide lines of the Northern Rivers, NSW, Australia, each twisting frond was carefully floating-pressed in the studio. The final result is a quiet slice of coastal art resting gently on fine paper—carrying the permanent imprint of a single tide, a specific stretch of shore, and a serene day by the sea.
Made for beachcombers, ocean souls, and collectors of unique natural art, this piece brings the soothing, rhythmic movement of the tide into your home. A gentle daily reminder to embrace the unexpected beauty found in nature's wild currents.
All prints are unframed and posted with hard backing card for protection and sealed in a biodegradable cellulose slip.

Behind The Brand
With The Tides is a studio practice rooted in devotion to the ocean and the natural world. Based along the Northern Rivers coastline of NSW, Australia, the artwork celebrates the transient, delicate beauty of washed-up marine flora through traditional botanical pressing.
Every design begins on the beach. Seaweed specimens are gathered by hand from the shoreline, taking only what the tide has already offered, never harvesting from living reefs or rock pools.
In the studio, each specimen is gently washed and floated on watercolor paper submerged in a shallow tray. As it settles into its natural form, the paper is carefully lifted out and transferred to a wooden press.
The pressing process takes days or weeks to complete. The resulting prints hold a tactile memory of a specific tide, weather pattern, and stretch of coast.
