Description
Delicately handpainted mugs featuring a range of Australian sea creatures. These mugs are handmade here in the Northern Rivers by Pora Pottery. Inspired by the creatures spotted on her dives, potter Ellie uses underglazes to create these stunning works of art on her handbuilt mugs. As these mugs are handmade, each piece is unque and will slightly differ in appearance and volume.
Each mug measures approximately 7cm tall x 7.5cm wide and holds approximately 6oz/180ml.
Behind The Brand
The name Pora, comes from Acropora - a foundational, reef building coral, highly susceptible to the effects of climate change and ongoing heat stress. Ellie handbuilds and paints these stoneware mugs, aimed towards bringing awareness to and celebrating ocean species.
The base of each mug is stamped with fossilised coral that maker Ellie found while travelling remote WA and studying a Master of Marine Biology. It is a small but sentimental mark to remind us of the importance that coral reefs play in the ocean eco system.
Handmade at Suffolk Park, Northern Rivers of NSW.
