Description
A country road curls up through a tangle of trees in "Back Road", an original oil painting by Jill Thompson. Inspired by the back road heading up through Tintenbar, its thick, textured brushstrokes pick out layered greens, a golden roadside verge and a soft grey sky, bringing a little of the Northern Rivers hinterland indoors.
Jill Thompson is a Lennox Head artist who paints the beaches, headlands and back roads of the Northern Rivers in a loose, gestural style. Painted directly onto a solid block of upcycled timber, this little piece is sturdy enough to stand on its own on a shelf, desk or windowsill, or it can hang from the hook on the back. Jill signs, titles and dates every piece by hand on the reverse.
These mini artworks make a fantastic gift for an art lover, a northern rivers local, a housewarming gift, or even to someone who has moved on from the area and needs a touch of nostalgic beauty in their homes.
One-of-a-kind original artwork. Handmade in Lennox Head, Northern Rivers NSW. 8.5cm W x 13cm H x 1.8cm D.
