Description

Swimming across Lake Ainsworth in Lennox Head, Jill Thompson always used the arched paperbark trees as her guide. In "The Arches" she paints them in pale, ghostly strokes against deep forest greens, their trunks mirrored in the dark water. The block's rough, natural top edge adds to its raw, handmade charm.

Jill Thompson is a Lennox Head artist who paints the beaches, headlands and back roads of the Northern Rivers in a loose, gestural style. Painted directly onto a solid block of upcycled timber, this little piece is sturdy enough to stand on its own on a shelf, desk or windowsill, or it can hang from the hook on the back. Jill signs, titles and dates every piece by hand on the reverse.

These mini artworks make a fantastic gift for an art lover, a northern rivers local, a housewarming gift, or even to someone who has moved on from the area and needs a touch of nostalgic beauty in their homes.

One-of-a-kind original artwork. Handmade in Lennox Head, Northern Rivers NSW. 8.5cm W x 12.5cm H x 1.8cm D.
